How to get started in property development in Adelaide
There are two ways in: learn to do it yourself, or do your first project alongside someone who already does it every day.
In person, half a day
Subdividing Land & Property Development — WEA Adelaide
Peter's introductory course at the WEA learning centre (Angas Street, Adelaide) covers the whole process in four hours:
- How to spot a block with development potential
- Zoning and site selection under the SA Planning & Design Code
- Running a financial feasibility — will this project actually make money?
- Due diligence before you buy
- Assembling your team: surveyor, planner, conveyancer, builder
- Managing the project from tender to completion
It's practical, Adelaide-specific, and taught by someone who does this for a living — not a seminar funnel for an expensive "mentorship".

The "armchair developer"
Some people want development profits without the second job that development can become. As an armchair developer, you contribute capital to a project; we find the site, run the feasibility, manage the build and the sale — and you share in the profit.
It suits people with:
- $300,000+ in cash, or in equity you already hold in your home or an investment property, or
- Borrowing capacity of around $700,000+
Every project comes with a detailed feasibility study behind it, and it has been through our full due diligence process. We reject hundreds of sites for every one we take on. If a deal isn't good enough for our own money, we won't bring it to you. You'll see the numbers and the assumptions before you commit to anything.
Property development involves risk, and returns are never guaranteed. We'll always encourage you to take independent financial and legal advice before investing.

Development consultancy
Already own — or thinking of buying — a site and want a professional second opinion? We prepare financial feasibility reports, advise on the best development outcome (townhouses vs detached, single vs two-storey), and can carry out due diligence before you sign anything. We can also project-manage your development end to end.
Rather sell than build?
