About
The person you'll actually be dealing with
Peter Aquilina
Peter has been developing residential property in Adelaide since 2017, running House-Proud Property Developments — finding sites, running the numbers, and managing subdivisions and builds through to completion. He was born in Adelaide, still lives here, and doesn't develop anywhere else.
He came to development by an unusual route. Peter trained and worked as a scientist first, which is where the methodical streak comes from: evidence before opinion, assumptions written down and tested, nothing taken on faith. Before starting his own company, he worked for another property developer and for a builder. He learned both sides of the process on someone else's projects, before risking anyone's money on his own.
Ask the people who've dealt with him what stands out, though, and they don't mention the spreadsheets. They mention that he listens. Selling a home is rarely just a transaction, particularly a long-held family home, an estate, or a home someone is leaving in difficult circumstances. Peter's approach is a conversation over a cuppa, a straight answer about what your property can and can't do, and no pressure at any point. Some of the conversations he's proudest of ended with him saying "you're better off not selling to a developer". He'll tell you that too, if that's where the numbers land.
"My success is built on trust, and my number one value has been, and always will be, people."
He's also big on showing his working. He'll explain how he reached an offer in as much detail as you want. He runs a half-day introduction to subdivision and development at WEA Adelaide, too, because owners make better decisions when they understand how it all works.

Why "House-Proud"?
Where the name comes from
Being house-proud is a quiet, everyday thing. You notice the way the light comes into a room. A cupboard sits exactly where you need it. The place simply works, and you find yourself appreciating it. Homes like that get looked after, and they stay warm and inviting to come home to.
That's what we aim for on every build: thoughtful design, in suburbs people genuinely want to live in, finished to a standard we're glad to put our name on. Our homes do sell quickly and rent easily. But the real point is to spread the joy of being house-proud to more people across Adelaide.
The same goes for how we deal with the owners who sell to us. A fair offer, properly documented, with the reasoning behind it. And an honest "this doesn't stack up" when it doesn't.
